Odds-on favourite Yeats, ridden by Johnny Murtagh, put in another superb display to win the Goodwood Cup.
The Aidan O'Brien-trained seven-year-old, the winner of the race in 2006, was in dominant form.
Tungsten Strike set a tough early pace but Yeats was nicely placed just behind him in second.
The pair pulled away from the rest of the field but Yeats went for home with two furlongs left and was never troubled after that.
Tungsten Strike held on well for second with Sagara back in third.
Yeats had come into the race after completing hat-trick of Gold Cup wins at last month's Royal Ascot meeting.
Murtagh said: "He's a great horse and a true warrior. The crowds turned out to see him and he didn't let them down. He's often done more at home on the gallops.
"He was a little fresh at Ascot and today was much better. He's got a very high cruising speed - when he gets into top gear he can maintain it constantly. "He's truly a great stayer."
