Double silver for skier Sowerby

Skier Jane Sowerby

British Paralympic hopeful Jane Sowerby claimed two silver medals in Colorado to continue her impressive start to the ski season.

Sowerby, who is aiming for the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver, was second in both the slalom and the Super G in the event at Winter Park.

The 33-year-old won bronze in the giant slalom at Copper Mountain, Hartford, last week.

There was also a silver in Hartford for Sean Rose in the men's slalom.

Sowerby, who began skiing after an accident in 2003 left her with a broken back and paralysed from the waist down, powered through her slalom runs to finish second.

"This start to the season really has exceeded all my expectations; long may it continue," she told her website.

Sowerby and Rose and the rest of the GB squad will travel to the World Cup races in Spain and Italy in January.
