Britain's 16-year-old athlete Rebecca Chin has been re-classified and will now compete in the F38 category shot and discus on her Paralympic debut.
Chin was originally eligible for the F44 category, but had to undergo a second classification in Beijing.
Athletics team manager Tim Jones said: "We are delighted that Rebecca has been confirmed as able to compete and can now focus on her first competition."
The teenager is due to make her debut on 11 September in the Bird's Nest.
Jones added: "It has been a very difficult few days for Rebecca and her family while her classification has been under review and this outcome was not expected."
All new athletes to the team are subject to re-classifications.
In 2004, British wheelchair racer Jenny Ridley withdrew from the Athens Paralympics after her T52 class was brought up to the T53 category, which is for less disabled athletes.
Ridley decided to pull out saying the disadvantage would have been too great.
