Two golds for GB adaptive rowers

Helene Raynsford celebrates her gold medal Britain took two golds and a bronze from the four disability events at the World Rowing Championships in Eton.

Naomi Riches, Alan Crowther, Alastair McKean, Victoria Hansford and cox Alan Sherman won GB's third consecutive title in the legs, trunk and arms four.

Helene Raynsford became the first ever winner of the women's arms-only single scull category.

And Shaun Sewell was third behind Dominic Monypenny of Australia in the men's version of the same event.

American favourites Angela Madsen and Scott Brown took the trunk and arms mixed double scull, with Great Britain sixth.

Raynsford had a good start and lengthened her lead throughout the race, ahead of Patricia Rollison of the USA and Poland's Martina Snopek.

She said: "I'm absolutely ecstatic."

Sewell overcame the challenge from Canada's Jeff Standfield to finish behind defending champion Monypenny and Ron Harvey of the USA.

"I saw Canada there and had to pull myself through a bit," he said.

"It's fantastic, I'm overwhelmed. I was in hospital three months ago and there were other people after my spot."
