Two-year French ban for Beltran

Manuel Beltran

Spanish cyclist Manuel Beltran has been banned from racing in France for two years after a positive dope test during this year's Tour de France.

Beltran, who rode for the Liquigas team, was excluded from this year's tour when his positive test for blood booster EPO was revealed.

The ban starts on Tuesday and he is now ineligible for the next two editions of the Tour.

The 37-year-old was one of seven riders to test positive on the 2008 Tour.
