Harlow and Marshall exit in Perth

Alex Marshall and Greg Harlow

The top two seeds - Greg Harlow and Alex Marshall - have exited the Scottish International Open in Perth.

Top seed Harlow lost 9-2 9-5 to world champion and fellow Englishman Billy Jackson, who is seeded tenth.

Scotland's Marshall was knocked out 10-2 9-6 by Robert Weale, the ninth-seeded Welshman.

Scottish qualifier Stewart Anderson beat Northern Ireland's Jonathon Ross (15), while John Price (Wales) defeated fellow qualifier Tim Stone (England).

Anderson, who this month retained the world under-25 title, won 10-4 10-6 to follow up on his dismissal of former world champion David Gourlay in the first round.

Price, who had already accounted for third seed Mark Royal, beat Stone 4-7 9-5 2-0.

The Welshman now faces Mervyn King, the eighth-seeded Englishman, in Thursday's quarter-finals at the Dewars Centre, from where action is being broadcast live on BBC Scotland and the BBC Sport website.

Paul Foster, at four the highest-remaining seed, faces seventh seed Andy Thomson, his fellow Scot who represents England.

Anderson will also hope to please the home crowd when he takes on Jackson.

Weale faces Englishman Ian Bond, the twelfth seed.
