Honey in trouble after Quebec win
Toby Honey has been warned over his future funding after playing in Quebec instead of at an event in Wimbledon.
Honey won the Canadian International, but Badminton England head coach Ian Wright said he should not have missed the National Elite Open.
"While we're pleased Toby produced a good result in Canada, all Elite squad members are expected to support events on the domestic circuit," he said.
Wright added that Surrey's Honey, 23, had accepted he was in the wrong.
As a punishment he has had his Badminton England funding for the Swedish International in Stockholm withdrawn.
Honey has also been warned that a similar "error of judgement" in the future may put his entire England Elite programme funding at risk.
