Ravens beat Dolphins in play-offs

The Baltimore Ravens saw off the Miami Dolphins with a 27-9 victory, while the Philadelphia Eagles beat Minnesota 26-14 in the NFL play-offs on Sunday.

Dolphins quarterback Chad Pennington was intercepted four times with Ed Reed returning one for a 64-yard touchdown.

Asante Samuel returned an interception 44 yards for an Eagles touchdown and Brian Westbrook added a 71-yard score.

In Saturday's games, Indianapolis lost 23-17 in overtime to San Diego, while the Arizona beat Atlanta 30-24.

The top seeds join the play-offs next weekend, with Tennessee hosting Baltimore and Arizona travelling to Carolina on Saturday.

The following day, the Eagles take on the defending Super Bowl champion New York Giants and San Diego face Pittsburgh.

On Sunday the Dolphins, who went into the game with five straight wins behind them, took a 3-0 lead only for the Ravens to force Pennington into several mistakes.

After throwing only seven interceptions during the regular season, he had four during an unhappy 22-minute spell.

Later, Adrian Peterson had 20 carries for 83 yards and two touchdowns for the Vikings but it was not enough against an Eagles side whose season was thought to be over after a terrible run of form in November.

The Chargers beat Indianapolis - and league Most Valuable Player Peyton Manning - in the play-offs for the second year in a row, Darren Sproles sprinting 22 yards for the overtime touchdown that guided them to victory.

Veteran quarterback Kurt Warner connected with scoring passes of 42 yards to Larry Fitzgerald and 71 to Anquan Boldin to help the Cardinals claim an unexpected win over the Falcons.

Running back Edgerrin James contributed 73 yards on 16 carries for the NFC West division champions.
