Giants tie Snee to six-year deal
Super Bowl champions the New York Giants have signed right guard Chris Snee to a six-year contract extension worth a reported $43.5m.
He becomes the third starting offensive lineman to extend his deal since the Super Bowl, following left tackle David Diehl and left guard Rich Seubert.
Centre Shaun O'Hara and right tackle Kareem McKenzie have already agreed deals through the 2012 season.
"I had faith that it would be done," Snee, 26, told the Giants' website.
"I am just happy to have it done before the season and really just have peace of mind and not worry about it and go out and play.
"We have spoken so much about how well we play together and the importance of continuity.
"We feel like we're the core group of the offence, and to keep this group together for as long as we can is important."
A second-round pick in the 2004 NFL draft, Snee has started every game he has played for New York. He is known for his outstanding drive blocking in the running game.
