Nicol wins British Open
Nicol now wants Commonwealth Games success
Peter Nicol secured his second British Open squash title with a straight games victory over Scotland's John White.
The world number one and top seed won 15-9 15-8 15-8 in the first all-British men's final for more than 60 years.
A delighted Nicol said: "It's a fantastic feeling to claim another British Open title.
"I can't wait to come back here in the summer to this magnificent venue to go for another gold medal in the Commonwealth Games."
Nicol, who chose to represent England last year after reaching the top of the sport whilst competing for his native Scotland, showed no signs of the hip injury he had carried into the tournament.
His pace and precision counter the hard hitting play of sixth-seed White in the 46-minute contest.
In the women's final Sarah Fitz-Gerald defeated Tania Bailey in straight games.
The Australian world number one took only 34 minutes to thrash surprise finalist and 15th seed Bailey 9-3 9-0 9-0.
Fitz-Gerald, four times World Open champion and now a double British Open winner, dominated with her aggressive volleying from the centre of the court.
