Germany seal golden treble
Germany won their third consecutive Olympic team show jumping gold medal on Tuesday night when they took an unbeatable lead with one round to go.
The quartet of Christian Ahlmann, Marco Kutscher, Otto Becker and Ludger Beerbaum finished with 16 penalties, which could not be bettered.
Sweden and the USA finished in joint-second place and the silver and bronze medals were decided by a jump off.
Both teams went clear but the USA were quicker and took the high honour.
Four-time Olympic gold medallist Beerbaum, riding Goldfever, and Kutscher, on Montender, both secured double clear rounds to help Germany claim their sensational golden treble.
