Argentina's basketball joy
Luis Scola scored 25 points as Argentina defeated Italy 84-69 to win the men's basketball gold medal.
Massimo Bulleri scored five consecutive points to lift Italy within 61-59 with just over nine minutes left.
But Alejandro Montecchia secured two three-pointers and Scola scored four points in a 12-1 run over the next five minutes to secure Argentina's triumph.
The win gave Argentina two golds in one day after a 52-year drought, following the success of the men's football team.
Earlier, the Americans bounced back to take bronze with a hard-fought 104-96 win over Lithuania.
And the US women's team took gold with a 74-63 victory over Australia.
