Breeze in Olympic 'no man's land'
Devon's Commonwealth gold medal-winning weightlifter Michaela Breeze says she is still waiting to hear if she has earned a place at the Beijing Olympics.
Breeze, who won Commonwealth gold in the 63kg class for Wales in Melbourne two years ago, has continued training in the hope of being selected.
"I'm in no man's land at the moment," Breeze told BBC Spotlight.
"I'm getting a bit nervous, a bit anxious, as the longer it goes on the less chance there is of me going."
Great Britain has not been given any guaranteed places at Beijing so far, even though Breeze has lifted enough weight to meet the qualifying standard.
Breeze may receive an invitational place for Beijing, but the sport's governing body - the IWF - delayed Olympic nominations last month following a backlog of doping samples at its labs.
"I'm training as if I'm going, but I haven't had the call," she added.
She says if she were selected to go to Beijing, she would be confident of at least a top-eight finish.
