Shropshire wheelchair sprinter Mickey Bushell has targeted medals in the 100m final in his first Paralympics.
"I'm lightweight, fast off the line and in the best shape ever," he said. "My aim is to get to the finals and, once there, only the finish line matters."
Just turned 18, the three-times British record holder from Telford added: "Not many people get to represent their country at the Paralympics.
"The experience will be worth its weight in gold ahead of London 2012."
Bushell was originally setting his sights for London, but such has been the progress of the 'fastest boy on wheels' that he was selected for Beijing ahead of time.
He leaves home for the Hong Kong 10-day holding camp, before moving on to Beijing on September 3 to compete at 100m and 200m.
