Price looks at the bigger picture
Liverpool super-heavyweight David Price admits the road to the Olympics has been a tough one for him and for his support team.
The 25-year-old says getting to this event is well worth the sacrifices and he feels it can only good for his camp.
"I'm trying to look at the bigger picture all the time," said Price.
"As to what this can do for us as a family if I do well over here, hopefully it will change things a little bit for me."
The captain of the British boxing team believes that any success at the games can only be good for all involved in his day-to-day life.
But as he gets closer to his opening fight with Russia's European and world number one Islam Timurziev on Wednesday, he realises what he and his family have been through.
"I've had to leave my little girl and my fiancee at home every week Monday to Thursday and for a month at a time on other occasions," he said. "And that's been difficult.
"But they're going to come out here. My little girl won't, she's only two, so its a bit too far for her to come out.
"I've got 14 people coming out here to watch me. That speaks a lot for me because of how expensive it is to come over. That just shows how proud they are."
