Harte handed contract extension

Mickey Harte

Tyrone manager Mickey Harte has been granted a further two-year extension to his contract as Red Hands boss.

Harte's current contract was due to expire following next year's Championship but his request to go beyond that period has been agreed.

The Tyrone County Board met on Tuesday night and the extension was ratified unanimously by the members.

The three-time All-Ireland Championship winning manager has been in charge of the county since 2003.
