Coulter still doubtful for Irish

Benny Coulter is tackled by Adam Selwood

Down forward Benny Coulter remains a major injury doubt for Ireland's decisive International Rules Second Test in Melbourne on Friday.

Coulter is still troubled by a back injury and he will have a late fitness test before the game.

Aidan O'Mahony, Kevin Reilly and Leighton Glynn all missed training on Wednesday because of heavy colds.

Meanwhile, an incident-free game on Friday could mean Ulster staging an International Rules Test next year.

Croke Park has indicated that one of next year's planned Tests will be played at Croke Park with the other game being played at a provincial venue.

Given that Pearse Park in Galway staged a Test in 2006, it is conceivable that an Ulster venue could be used to host an Ireland-Australia clash in 2009.

A date of 24 October has already been mentioned in connection with a Test game in Ulster.

Meanwhile, Galway's Finian Hanley has been passed fit for Friday's Second Test after x-rays revealed no bone damage was suffered in his clash with Campbell Brown in last week's game.

Ireland will take a 45-44 lead into the Second Test.
