Boylan picks six Ulster starters

Six players from Ulster counties have been named in the Ireland starting line-up for Friday's International Rules Test against Australia in Perth.

Ciaran McKeever is included in the defence while Enda McGinley, captain Sean Cavanagh and Joe McMahon make up an all-Tyrone half-forward line.

Steven McDonnell and Benny Coulter are included in attack.

Paddy Bradley, Aaron Kernan and Justin McMahon are on the bench but Martin McGrath and Paul Finlay both miss out.

McGrath and Finlay were both late call-ups to the squad and they will not be involved in Friday's opening Test along with Kerry's Killian Young.

"We had to leave three guys out and it was a difficult call," said Ireland manager Sean Boylan.

"While they can tog out this evening we can't bring them on - but they always have the second test in Melbourne next week."

Given the importance of the Interchange players in the compromise code, Bradley, Kernan and Justin McMahon can all expect to get regular action in Friday's game at the Subiaco Oval.
