Derry clubs learn appeals verdict

Francis McEldowney is sent-off at Celtic Park

Ballinderry manager Paul Devlin has had his suspension of 96 weeks reduced to 72 after an appeal to Derry's County Hearings Committee.

Devlin's ban was one of a series of punishments handed out to Ballinderry and Slaughtneil over fighting which broke out at the county final.

Slaughtneil players Fergal and Francie McEldowney have had their suspensions reduced from 48 weeks to 36.

The ban on Slaughtneil playing at home for a year has been lifted altogether.

The monetary penalty on the Ballinderry club has been increased to just over 3000 Euro while Slaughtneil were fined around 4000 Euro.

Raymond McCloskey, a member of the Slaughtneil club, had his supension reduced to 48 weeks while Slaughtneil's Dannny McMullan had his cut to 24 weeks.

Michael Rodgers of Slaughtneil is suspended for 36 weeks while Martin McEldowney's suspension is 72 weeks. The 24-week suspension of all Slaughtneil adult football teams was confirmed.
