Joy for Errigal and Killyclogher

Peter Canavan Defending champions Errigal Ciaran squeezed through their WJ Dolan Tyrone SFC preliminary round clash with Clan na nGael by 0-8 to 0-6 at Carrickmore.

Saturday's turgid encounter was finally settled by late substitute Peter Canavan, who hit the clinching point in stoppage time.

Killyclogher scored a 1-11 to 0-10 win over Derrylaughan at the same venue.

Leo Meenan, with 1-3, and Ciaran Carland, with four points, got the vital scores for Killyclogher.

Brendan Quinn scored five points for the newly promoted Barrys.

Coalisland coasted to a 2-19 to 1-8 win over Omagh at Augher on Friday.

Goals from Plunkett Kane and Richard Thornton made it a surprisingly easy passage for the Fianna with Cathal McCarron netting for Omagh.

Ardboe breezed through to the first round by beating Stewartstown 2-13 to 0-8 in a preliminary game at Edendork.

Second half goals from Tommy McGuigan and John Cunmings killed off the challenge of the newly-promoted Harps.

On Sunday, Moy face Aghyaran, Trillick play Dromore, Cookstown take on Pomeroy while Carrickmore tackle Clonoe.

Owen Mulligan is a fitness doubt for Cookstown's game against Pomeroy at Dungannon after limping off in a club match last weekend.
