Armagh manager rings the changes

Charlie Vernon

Armagh manager Peter McDonnell has rung the changes for his side's National League game against Cork on Sunday.

Neither side can be promoted or relegated so McDonnell has made five changes to the side that beat Dublin, with some fringe players coming in.

Ciaran McKinney replaces Paul Hearty in goals and Francie Bellew makes a long awaited return in the full-back spot.

David McKenna makes his League debut in midfield and Brian Mallon and Michael O'Rourke come into the forward line.

Aaron and Stephen Kernan drop to the bench and Tony Kernan recovers from an injury he picked up against Dublin.

Martin O'Rourke loses out while Charlie Vernon moves to the half-forward line to allow McKenna to play alongside Paul McGrane, who will take his position.

The other positional change will see Brendan Donaghy move out to wing half-back.

Armagh: C McKinney, P Kernan, F Bellew, F Moriarty, B Donaghy, A O'Rourke, C McKeever, P McGrane, D McKenna, C Vernon, P McKeever, B Mallon, S McDonnell, R Clarke, M O'Rourke.

Three goals in the second half saw Armagh storm to a nine-point victory over Dublin at Crossmaglen.

Dublin scored the first goal, however, as Jason Sherlock set up Bernard Brogan who hammered into the net.

Armagh, 0-8 to 1-3 up at half-time were boosted when young midfielder Charlie Vernon netted a fine opening goal.

Stephen Kernan passed for Steven McDonnell to score Armagh's second goal while Ronan Clarke got the third and Dublin's Alan Brogan was sent-off.

Clarke, McDonnell, Paddy McKeever and Tony Kernan were among the point scorers in the first half as Armagh started strongly, clearly determined to get over the disappointment of losing to Meath.
