Tyrone turned in a brilliant display to make no mistake at the second time of asking in Saturday's All-Ireland Minor Football Final replay at Breffni Park.
After a nervous start, Tyrone asserted themselves in the second quarter to go in 0-6 to 0-2 ahead at the break.
A big Dublin challenge was expected in the third quarter but instead it was Tyrone who immediately took a strangehold on the match with Leo Meenan goaling two minutes after the break.
The goal seemed to inspire Tyrone and deflate Dublin in equal measure and the outcome was never really in doubt after that.
Martin Penrose's 40th minute goal meant the final third of the game was effectively a lap of honour for the Ulster Champions.
It had all been so different in the opening minutes of the contest with the Tyrone team seeming to be suffering a nasty hangover from Dublin's late show at Croke Park.
The Ulster side looked nervous and Dublin could have been four points up by the time Leo Meenan levelled at 0-1 apiece in the eighth minute.
It took an inspirational run and point from Sean Cavanagh in the 14th minute to rally the Tyrone side.
Cavanagh's solo score indicated that he was fully fit after the injury scare he had following the drawn match and it seemed to act as a major psychological boost for his team-mates.
Thereafter, Tyrone bossed the match.
Gerard Toner knocked over a free to put Tyrone 0-3 to 0-1 ahead on 20 minutes and then a superb fetch in midfield from Peter Donnelly set up Cavanagh for another great score.
Donnelly then thumped over a huge wind-assisted free from all over 55 metres and suddenly, despite their nervous start, Tyrone were four points clear and playing with confidence.
A point at either end left a margin of four points at the interval.
Tyrone had been rocked by three Dublin comebacks in the drawn encounter and the message from joint-managers Liam Donnelly and Martin Coyle must have been for no let-up early in the second period.
Tyrone delivered spectacularly in the third quarter with the excellent Meenan's goal in the 32nd minute setting up a purple patch for the Ulster side.
Perhaps Galway referee Des Joyce was generous to Meenan in that the corner-forward looked to have taken plenty of steps after latching onto Barry Mulligan's excellent long-ball.
But Meenan's finish from a tight angle was superb.
Toner and Meenan added further points within 90 minutes and Tyrone were now nine ahead.
After a point of either end left the score 1-9 to 0-3, the outcome was settled when Penrose's apparent effort for a point from 30 metres deceived Dublin goalkeeper Paul Copeland and lobbed into the net.
The job was done by that stage and Tyrone were content to sit back and fend off Dublin attempts to hit goals.
Dublin huffed and puffed but never seriously threatened John Devine's goal-line.
The Leinster Champions had sailed close to the wind on a number of occasions with hefty challenges, particularly on Peter Donnelly and Cavanagh and Graham Cullen did receive his marching orders in injury-time.
Cullen had been fouled by Tyrone full-back Dermot Carlin but his retaliation brought an inevitable red card.
Tyrone captain Donnelly felt Meenan's goal was the crucial score of the match.
"A goal was always going to kill them off," said the skipper.
"Then after that the plan was to hang back and defend and luckily enough it paid off.
"We were very angry coming into this game.
"We really wanted to win it and throwing it away the last day," added Donnelly who will play for Tyrone in next weekend's All-Ireland U21 Final against Mayo.
Adams points
Meanwhile, Antrim claimed their first All-Ireland Intermediate Camogie title by comfortably defeating Derry 3-10 to 0-5 at Casement Park on Saturday.
Two Grace McMullan goals on 10 and 20 minutes left Antrim 2-3 to 0-4 ahead at half-time.
Jane Adams then scored four consecutive points in the third quarter to extend Antrim's advantage.
Mairead Graham hit Antrim's third goal in the 58th minute.
A Kate McAuley point was Derry's only second half score.
