McBride blow for Blues

Justin McBride and David Jeffrey

Recent Linfield signing Justin McBride will be out of football for two months after being involved in a recent car crash.

The injury is dreadful luck for the former Glentoran player.

He sustained a groin strain in Linfield's Champions League qualifier against Torpedo Kutaisi on 11 July and was just about to resume action at the time of the car accident.

McBride's car was struck from behind in the crash.

Meanwhile, the Cliftonville-Linfield league game scheduled for Solitude on 8 September has been switched to Windsor Park because of ground improvement work at the north Belfast venue.
