Comets captain to ride amid break

Kevin Doolan

Workington Comets captain Kevin Doolan admitted he cannot afford to take a break while there are no fixtures given the current financial climate.

Comets have broken from Premier League action for the British Speedway Grand Prix but Doolan will be out riding in open and pairs meetings.

"It's my busiest week of the season," he told BBC Radio Cumbria.

"As a team effort we've split for the week but we do keep ourselves busy and try to make a bit of cash on the side."
