Comets secure shield final place
Workington Comets will face Berwick Bandits in the final of the Jack Young Shield after beating holders Redcar Bears 94-90 overall in the semi-finals.
Comets rider Carl Stonehewer took a maximum 18 points as they overhauled their five-point first-leg deficit.
Bears were unable to hold onto their lead despite the best efforts of Chris Kerr who took 14 points from his rides.
The first-leg of the final against Berwick takes place away at Shielfield Park on Saturday, 25 October.
