Loris Capirossi and Chris Vermeulen will continue to race for the Rizla Suzuki MotoGP team after signing new deals for the 2009 season.

Vermeulen, 26, who is sixth in the drivers' standings with five races to go, was given his first chance to race in MotoGP by the team in 2007.

Veteran Capirossi also joined the team in 2007 after leaving Ducati.

The new deal for the 35-year-old Italian means he could notch up a 300th Grand Prix start next season.

"I am delighted to be staying with Suzuki for another season," said Capirossi, who is ninth in the championship.

What do you think of Suzuki's decision?

"I have really enjoyed my short time here and know we are making progress and can be on top again.

"I still have unfinished business in MotoGP and on the Suzuki, I still have podiums, pole positions and race wins in me."

Australian Vermeulen, added: "I'm extremely happy to be staying with the Suzuki team, it is a factory and squad that I know well and respect enormously.

"Suzuki was my entry into Grand Prix racing, I have been here for three years and won a GP - and been on podium many times - so I am really pleased to be continuing this relationship."
