Barros out of British GP

Brazilian Alex Barros has pulled out of the British Motorcycling Grand Prix after breaking his right hand during the warm-up on Sunday.

Yamaha's leading rider collided with Suzuki rider Yukio Kagayama of Japan at high speed as he left the pit lane.

Barros sustained a broken metacarpal in his right hand and the inexperienced Kagayama, who is riding in place of the injured Kenny Roberts, later apologised for the incident.

It brings to an end Barros' record run of 158 consecutive appearances in MotoGP that started in 1992 in Brazil.
