Mark Webber

BBC COMMENTATOR MARTIN BRUNDLE'S VIEW

"I've been impressed with Mark Webber this season. I wondered if his team-mate Sebastian Vettel might bury him but Webber has fought his side of the Red Bull garage well.

"He has scored two great victories, particularly at the Nurburgring where he absolutely trounced the field - including Vettel on his home turf - despite having to serve a drive-through penalty.

"He started the year with a broken leg and looking pasty as hell when I interviewed him for the BBC in January.

"He would have shaken anybody's hand off there and then for a guaranteed eight podiums and two victories.

"And I was very impressed how he held off Jenson Button off on the final lap of the final race of the season. It has been a great year for him.

"The Australian's credibility and confidence is way higher now than it was at the beginning of 2009."
