Fernando Alonso

Not especially happy homecoming

Fernando Alonso

Fernando Alonso has underlined this year just how good he is, but it is clear the double world champion is not enjoying being away from the front.

The Spaniard has transcended his Renault's limitations with a series of brilliant drives.

There have been mistakes - but usually as a result of pushing the car harder than it wants to go.

And it culminated with two superb, late-season wins a lucky one in Singapore and a brilliant one in Japan.
