JAPAN

Fuji Speedway with Mount Fuji in the background

Fuji returned to the calendar in 2007 for the first time in 20 years as a replacement for Suzuka thanks to heavy lobbying from owner Toyota.

There are a couple of good, challenging corners, particularly 100R, and a mile-long straight to aid overtaking.

And on the rare clear days there are fabulous views to the volcanic cone of Mount Fuji, the symbol of Japan.

But as a driver challenge Fuji lags way behind its predecessor, with which it will alternate the race from 2009.
