The Turkish Grand Prix made its debut in 2005 at a new track east of Istanbul that won rave reviews.
The 3.34-mile circuit was designed by Formula One's favoured architect, Hermann Tilke, the man behind new tracks in Malaysia, Bahrain and China.
Its layout won lavish praise for managing to combine a modern facility with a series of challenging corners.
The drivers were particularly fond of Turn Eight, a double-apex left already hailed as one of Formula One's best.
