Nurburgring, Germany

Non-animated version

The new Nurburgring, built in 1984, is a pale shadow of its next door neighbour, the wonderful Nordschleife Built next door to the old Nurburgring Nordschleife, arguably the greatest motor racing track ever built, the new track is a shadow of its predecessor.

The Nordschleife's 14 incredible miles are far too dangerous for modern F1.

But the Germans have done a far less impressive job of amending an all-time classic track for the modern age than their neighbours at Spa in Belgium.

Still, the new Nurburgring has a couple of good corners and its race is often spiced up by changeable weather.
