Honda boss rejects Brawn rumours

Nick Fry Honda boss Nick Fry has denied reports he made an approach to former Ferrari technical director Ross Brawn to join his team.

"It's not true. I made one comment that I'm sure a number of people might be interested in him," he said.

"He's incredibly talented and would be an asset to most Formula One teams.

"I also said I thought Ferrari would have some kind of deal with him. You don't let a person like that go without having something, written or verbal."

Brawn, 52, is taking a year-long sabbatical after playing a key role in Michael Schumacher's years of dominating the sport.

In March he told BBC Sport he had a meeting with Ferrari planned for June, but did not yet have any other firm plans.

Ferrari team boss Jean Todt has indicated he would be happy to have Brawn back on board if he felt like it.

"Ross decided to leave his position to gain some time for himself," said Todt.

"We agreed that should he decide to come back and remain in the business he would come to me first to discuss it."

"Maybe he does not want to be in racing. Maybe he wants to be in another part of competition, but we can discuss that," said Todt.

"Brawn has done many things for Ferrari. I am only open to the idea of discussing his future with him."
