Lloyd ends Championship in fifth

Daniel Lloyd

West Yorkshire's Daniel Lloyd has finished fifth in his maiden season in the Ginetta Championship.

The 16-year old from Huddersfield finished sixth in the final race of the season at Brands Hatch, to finish on 403 points.

Lloyd was the only rookie in the championship to win a race, claiming three overall and two other podiums.

He said: "It's been a good season for me, I've learned a lot and it's been invaluable for my racing career."

"Obviously this weekend marks my last ever race in Ginetta Junior so I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Richard Dean at Ginetta Cars, Simon Moore at Tockwith Motorsport and Carolynn Hoy of the Stars of Tomorrow Championship.

"It's been a good season for me, I've learned a lot and it's been invaluable for my racing career," he added.
