Brundle aims for Snetterton win

Alex Brundle

Norfolk teenager Alex Brundle will hope to boost his championship standing when he drives on his home circuit at Snetterton on 16-17 August.

The 17-year-old from King's Lynn lies seventh in the Formula Palmer Audi table but could finish the weekend top.

"I had a good start with three podium finishes in the first five races and I'm looking to bring that fight to Snetterton," he said.

"It's my favourite UK circuit and I aim to win or at least score good points."

Brundle Jr is following in the footsteps of his father, former Formula 1 driver and TV commentator Martin.

He has already shown his mettle in a tough competition but knows he will face a battle for supremacy next weekend.

"The field has really closed up this season so it's impossible to predict who will be the main contenders," he said. "There's a great depth of drivers running at a strong pace so I will be thinking of everybody as competition."

Brundle is currently 13 points adrift of series leader 16-year-old Russian Ivan Lukashevich. More than 70 points are on offer from the weekend's three races at Snetterton.
