Lawson hangs on to lead at Oulton
Richmond driver Robert Lawson still leads the Seat Cupra Championship after the latest rounds at Oulton Park.
He managed two second-place finishes but his lead has been cut to 22 points by reigning champion Jonathan Adams.
Lawson said: "I think we've had a very strong two races. We got a bag full of points, two seconds - not good enough.
"Johnny's got a lot of pace in his car and I did my very best but I think we're going to have to find a little bit more next time."
"In the back of your mind you've got to think you can't be stupid in the races but at the same time you've got to push for wins"
Robert Lawson
It is Lawson's first season in the Championship, but he said being the leader from the first round is not putting extra pressure on him.
"To be honest I try to block it out. I take each round as it comes otherwise kind of psychologically things would probably get you down so I'm very conscious that I don't actually do that.
"Its a case of really picking the weekends away as they come and doing the very best job I can and then we'll see where we are at the end of the year.
"Obviously in the back of your mind you've got to think you can't be stupid in the races but at the same time you've got to push for wins."
Rounds 15 and 16 are at Knockhill in Scotland on 16 and 17 August.
