Robert Kubica has ruled himself out of the Formula One title chase and says either Kimi Raikkonen, Felipe Massa or Lewis Hamilton will claim the title.
The BMW driver, 23, trails championship leader Hamilton by just six points after finishing second in Monaco.
But he said: "Recently, it has been more difficult for us, so I expect Kimi Raikkonen, Felipe Massa and Lewis Hamilton to fight for the championship.
"But if I see an opportunity, of course, I shall do my best."
Since retiring in the season-opener in Australia, Kubica has not finished outside the top four in the five subsequent races.
The Pole returns to the scene of his horror shunt in 2007 when he competes in the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal next week.
But he insists the incident is behind him and is focused on continuing his fine run of form.
"I don't have to cope with anything," he added.
"In the last two or three races we were not as competitive as we were at the beginning of the season"
"Since then I have been driving a Formula One car without thinking about it.
"In Formula One and motorsport the risks are high, but I don't have any negative feelings about Canada.
"I am just going there, as I go to any other race, with the goal to score as many points as possible."
The Polish driver has been tipped for future championship success by both Hamilton and Fernando Alonso, after assisting BMW to second place in 2007, along with Nick Heidfeld.
But he admits that it will be difficult for BMW, under boss boss Mario Theissen, to maintain their progress throughout the season.

"In the last two or three races we were not as competitive as we were at the beginning of the season, when we were in between the Ferraris and the McLarens," he said.
