GB quartet win pentathlon bronze

Heather Fell

Great Britain's women picked up team bronze at the modern pentathlon World Cup event in Szekesfehervar, Hungary.

Olympic silver medallist Heather Fell was Britain's highest finisher in 10th, with Mhairi Spence 13th, Louise Helyer 16th and Katy Livingston 27th.

All four Bath-based athletes will hope to be in the British squad for the European Championships next month.

Lithuania's Laura Asadauskaite produced a remarkable run/shoot to climb from 14th to first and take individual gold.

It was Asadauskaite's second successive World Cup win, while Poland took team honours with hosts Hungary in second.

The competition was the third women's World Cup using the sport's new combined run/shoot format.
