Singh, Woods grouped with Britons

Masters tee-off times

Vijay Singh and Tiger Woods The top two golfers in the world have both been grouped with British rivals in the first round of the Masters.

World number one Vijay Singh will partner Lee Westwood and American Chad Campbell for a 1549 BST tee-off at Augusta on Thursday.

And world number two Tiger Woods has drawn Darren Clarke and Paraguayan Carlos Franco for a 1833 start.

Defending champion Phil Mickelson tees off immediately before Singh's group at 1538 with Australian Stuart Appelby.

Woods aiming for new heights

Mickelson is also grouped with American amateur Ryan Moore.

Mickelson said: "There have been some great amateur performances at Augusta, and I would not be surprised if Ryan Moore's was any less.

"It would not surprise me in the least, the type of player that Ryan is. I think he's exceptional."

World number three Ernie Els partners American David Toms and Australian Adam Scott in the penultimate group to go out at 1844.

Open champion Todd Hamilton will tee off at 1349 with South African veteran and three-times winner Gary Player and US mid-amateur champion Austin Eaton III.

South Africa's Retief Goosen, the US Open champion, has a 1449 start with American Stewart Cink and Australian left-hander Nick O'Hern.
