McIlroy claims fourth in Shanghai

Rory McIlroy

Rory McIlroy posted a course record to claim fourth place at the HSBC Champions tournament in Shanghai.

It moves the Northern Irishman up to second place in the Race to Dubai.

Lee Westwood is now less than 47,000 euro ahead of McIlroy with just the Hong Kong Open and Dubai World Championship left.

McIlroy had a brilliant 63 to finish the tournament on 14 under par, just three shots behind winner Phil Mickelson who held off Ernie Els.

Els matched McIlroy's 63 but was pipped by one shot by Mickelson.
