Geoff Ogilvy will take a six-stroke lead into the final round of the Mercedes-Benz Championship in Hawaii after shooting an eight-under-par 65.
The Australian is on 19 under with Justin Leonard, who carded a 65, and DJ Trahan, who had a 70, tied for second.
Overnight leader Ogilvy fired eight birdies, including three in a row on the back nine, and did not drop a shot.
"I've never actually been this far in front before, but I've been this far behind a lot of times," said Ogilvy.
"I played well, obviously. It was a different course than I've ever seen before, just a gentle wind in completely the opposite direction that I've ever seen it, so it was different."
Like Ogilvy, Leonard was also bogey-free and he admitted he was none too happy when he realised he had made no impression on the lead.
"I was looking at the leaderboards on the back nine, but I never saw Geoff's section, so I didn't know where he was," said Leonard.
"And then when I got to 18, I saw he was at 19 under. So it was a little deflating, to say the least."
Camilo Villegas, Davis Love III, Kenny Perry and Anthony Kim are 12 under, with KJ Choi another stroke back.
Defending champion Daniel Chopra of Sweden signed for a six-under 67 and is on four under.
