McDowell and McGinley joint fifth
Graeme McDowell and Paul McGinley shot six birdies and two bogeys at the Omega Mission Hills World Cup on Friday to leave Ireland in joint fifth.
They are on 11 under par along with the United States.
A superb display of foursomes golf by Miguel Angel Jimenez and European Tour rookie of the rear Pablo Larrazabal sent Spain into a four-stroke lead.
Australia and Germany are tied second at 13 under pre-tournament favourites Sweden are a shot further behind.
