Maybin five off Grand Final pace
Ballyclare's Gareth Maybin is five shots behind leader Andrew McArthur at the halfway stage of the European Challenge Tour Grand Final in Italy.
Maybin, already guaranteed his Tour card for next season, had four birdies and three bogeys in a one-under-par 70 and is five under for the tournament.
Belfast's Michael Hoey, who needs a top three finish to regain his Tour card, is in 29th place on one under.
Michael McGeady is alongside Hoey on the 141 mark.
Donegal man McGeady needs to win in Italy to force his way into the Challenge Tour top 20.
Maybin went into this weekend's event in fourth place in the Challenge Tour rankings.
