Dougherty 'embarrassed' at Open
Liverpool's Nick Dougherty has described his form at the Open Championship as "embarrassing".
The 26-year-old was bitterly disappointed with his week in Southport but refused to blame the tough weather conditions for his poor form.
"It's tough but if you don't play well you're going to shoot a score like I shot," he told BBC Radio Merseyside.
"Twenty-two over par? I mean come on give me a break, it's embarrassing coming up the last seeing that score."
Dougherty now faces a fight to make September's Ryder Cup team.
