The new European Open champion Ross Fisher has said he would like to see the event to return to Kent in 2009.
The London Golf Club, in Ash, hosted the tournament for the first time this year - but some critics say the course is too easy for a European Tour event.
Despite winning comfortably by seven shots on 20 under par, 27-year-old Fisher has defended the Kent course.
"I think it's a very good golf course, hats off to the staff, it's a tough test," he told BBC Radio Kent.
"It's not the shortest of courses - you were seeing drives of over 400 yards which is obviously very rare on the European Tour.
"After winning I'd be lying if I said I wasn't looking forward to coming back next year," Fisher added.
Ashford golfer Benn Barham also added his support to the London Club.
"The feedback from the players I've spoken to has been really good. I've spoken to a few of the European Tour staff and they're delighted with the way the tournament has panned out.
"Fingers crossed the tour will realise it's such a good event, in such a good location, in such a good venue, that we can continue it for many years."
Sir Jamie Byrkmere, the European Tour's director of championship management, said they had only signed a one-year deal with the club but they were in talks about the future.
General manager of the London Club Heath Harvey said he was optimistic it would return.
"We hope so, we think so, and if it has gone well enough and we can tick enough boxes, then 'yes' should be the answer."
