Brazilian teenager Angela Park overcame difficult conditions to shoot a six-under-par 67 to take the halfway lead at the US Women's Open.
Thunderstorms forced a two-hour delay in Minnesota and 36 players were to resume their rounds early on Saturday.
Sweden's Helen Alfredsson, Finland's Minea Blomqvist and Korea's Inbee Park are all one shot off the lead.
Scotland's Catriona Matthew, struck a four-over-par 77 to slip down the leaderboard to one over par.
She sits seven shots adrift alongside England's Karen Stupples (73) and world number one Lorena Ochoa who struck an eight-foot par putt on her final hole for a 74.

Davies, who clinched her first LPGA victory at the 1987 US Women's Open, missed out by one after following up her impressive opening-round 70 with an eight-over-par 81.
Wie was unable to make up the ground after her first-round 81, hitting a 75 to miss the cut by six strokes.
Defending champion Cristie Kerr was among a group of four players, which included Paula Creamer, Candie Kung and Jeong Jang, two shots off the lead at four under.
While overnight joint leader Pat Hurst also suffered after hitting a 78 to sit five shots off the pace.
The 19-year-old Park, who tied for second at last year's US Open, said she played almost the perfect round.
"Every putt I hit out there was flawless and I read the greens really well," said Park at Interlachen Country Club.
"Knowing that it's the most prestigious event in women's golf gives me a lot of confidence and makes me want to focus a little more than regular events, and I think that's what makes me play well.
"Having a good finish last year gives me that reminder that I can do well."
