Booth, 15, in Curtis Cup record

Carly Booth represented Great Britain and Ireland at just 15 years and 11 months

At 15 years old Carly Booth has become the youngest player to represent Great Britain and Ireland in the Curtis Cup.

The Perthshire teenager has had mixed fortunes in her three games against the United States at St Andrews, where the visitors lead 7 1/2 to 4 1/2.

On Saturday Booth and Breanne Loucks won their foursomes tie with Kimberly Kim and Jennie Lee 3 and 2.

But the British pair then lost 2 and 1 to Kim and Mina Harigae.

Those results mean that Booth has improved on her Curtis Cup debut. In Friday's fourballs she and fellow Scot Michele Thomson lost to US pairing Harigae and Kim 3 and 2.

Booth will celebrate her 16th birthday at the end of June.

She moved from her home in Comrie to America two years ago in a bid to improve her game, first to the David Leadbetter Academy in Florida and then to Superstition Mountain in Phoenix, Arizona.

In an impressive amateur career to date she has won the 2007 European Young Masters and the Scottish Under-21 Open.
