Wie accepts place in German Open
Michelle Wie will make only her third competitive appearance of the year at this week's German Open in Munich.
It will be the first time the 18-year-old American has played in a full-field Ladies European Tour event.
Wie has struggled with a long-term wrist injury and is not a member of any professional golf tour, although she has played twice in the US this year.
"I just thought I needed to play in more tournaments," she said. "At the last tournament I was really rusty."
Wie endured a miserable run of form and luck in 2007, injuring both wrists and only making three cuts, and admitted in February that she will never be 100% fit.

Your views on Michelle Wie's future
The teenager was given a sponsor's invitation to play in Germany and will tee off with Martina Eberl from Germany and Spain's Paula Marti on Thursday.
"I feel a lot healthier and I want to start playing more and playing some good golf," said Wie.
"My goal is just to have fun and keep my head on straight and shoot some low scores. I've never played here in Germany before.
"All the players seem really fun and have really welcomed me."
