Woods buoyant ahead of Bay Hill

Tiger Woods World number one Tiger Woods is in confident mood as he aims for a fifth win in the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill in Florida this week.

The American, winner for four years between 2000 and 2003, is the event's all-time leading money winner on £1.5m.

And, ahead of his 11th consecutive appearance, told his personal website: "I've always felt pretty comfortable at Bay Hill. It's a special place."

Woods, 31, heads a stellar line-up that also includes England's Luke Donald.

World numbers two and three Jim Furyk and Phil Mickelson are also due to appear, alongside Ernie Els, Retief Goosen, Vijay Singh and world number five Henrik Stenson.

However, the Swede, who won the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship in Arizona 16 days ago, admits he has just recovered from flu as he prepares for the event.

"I haven't played much golf since the Match Play," said Europe's number one. "I had a couple of days off and then I got sick, seemed to catch the bug like a lot of others.

"I've played only 18 holes since the Match Play and maybe had a little too much rest. Hopefully I'll be up and running by Thursday.

"I know I can shoot some good numbers and I've proven that I can win some pretty big golf tournaments. Hopefully I can continue to do so."
