The British Open golf trophy sits on a green outside the clubhouse at Hoylake You can follow all the action at the 135th Open Championship with the BBC.

Golf's oldest major takes place at Royal Liverpool course at Hoylake from Thursday 20 July to Sunday 23 July.

Tiger Woods will be hoping to retain the famous Claret Jug he won last year at St Andrews.

And you will be able to keep in touch on TV and interactive, radio, online and text services.

TELEVISION

This year's live and exclusive coverage is guided by the regular team of golf experts, commentators and reporters, and enhanced by the interactive service for digital viewers.


Gary Lineker is your host for almost 40 hours of live golf from Hoylake and he is joined by top pundits including "the voice of golf" Peter Alliss with Ken Brown, Wayne Grady and Sam Torrance.

Laura Davies, Julian Tutt, Beverly Lewis, Maureen Madill and Paul Eales are also on hand to provide expert insight with Hazel Irvine, Dougie Donnelly and Craig Doyle reporting from the course.

Each day's live coverage is followed by a late night highlights programme on BBC Two.

Interactive TV

Digital viewers can access a range of other features by pressing the red button to access BBCi's Open Interactive service.

RADIO

Listeners to Five Live, either on the internet, on digital tv or radio, or on medium wave can enjoy full live coverage every day of the championship.

The Breakfast programme will come live from the course with uninterrupted commentary beginning at 0900 BST on the first two days with the regular team lead by John Inverdale.

Commentary will come from Iain Carter, Bernard Gallacher, John Murray, Jay Townsend, Alistair Bruce-Ball, Maureen Madill, Andrew Cotter, Roger Chapman, Tony Adamson, Andrew Murray, Russell Fuller, Alison Nicholas and Conor McNamara.

Full commentary of the weekend's action will be in Five Live Sport from midday.
